Our Story

When twenty-one years old Naser Osman immigrated to Canada in 2015, he wanted to open his own business in his new home like so many other immigrants. But instead of opening a traditional Mom & Pop business, he wanted to pursue something he was passionate about.

Naser had known about the problems of saffron farmers in Western Afghanistan not being able to access international saffron markets while he studied at the faculty of agriculture at Herat University. Often, saffron farmers had no choice to sell their harvest to the middlemen and dominant distribution corporations at less than a reasonable price. Therefore, Caravan Saffron was established in 2019 by Naser and his team to provide a channel for Afghan farmers to sell their products at fair market price.
